PTO Meeting Minutes

September 11, 2026 

Called to order 9:02am

Updates - 

  • Membership Drive
    • Goal was reached (goal was 40% of families to join PTO). 100% staff membership. As of today, 268 members; 42 members at the $100 level.
    • Very little money raised is going towards membership gifts, will keep majority within the school.
  • Raise Craze
    • prior orgs had kept 50% of money raised, now capped at 10% max with this org
    • Goes live today - email will go out later in the day, kids being sent home with flyer and sticker to explain and encourage registration
    • Kids will be performing acts of kindness
    • Glow party - Sept 26th 5-7pm. DJ, pizza, raffle, auction, dance party. All children attending will receive entry into raffle.
    • Asking PTO members to put word out if any local businesses have interest in donating an item or service to the auction
      • a PTO member potentially will have her company donate red light therapy gift card
    • All money raised is going pack into the school (outdoor classroom, gaga pit, teacher grants high on the wish list)
    • Once the child registers, they get a keychain and 1 charm. 
    • Volunteers needed to hand out charms - after specials in PM. Only give a couple choices to the kids to make it easier and efficient 
  • Budget
    • A couple thousand dollars over goal for membership line item
    • tshirts have been ordered from spirit wear order as well as grade level shirts
    • Hairspray days are making a couple hundred per morning so far. Still using hairspray that was purchased last school year
  • Volunteer Opportunities
    • If any PTO member has not yet received a text or email from committee chair or MTK volunteer ops, reach out to Rachael asap and let her know
  • Dr Miller
    • Candy from the roof is on Sept 25th
    • school looks amazing, teachers and staff feel the love

  • what is PTO & what does PTO do
    • student support (grade level shirts, extra supplies), fundraising, event planning (holiday parties, community events, school events), teacher support (meals, fund special requests like supplies, specific curriculum, appreciation events, staff birthdays), volunteering (coordinate volunteers, lunch/recess duty, special activities), communication (share school news, calendar updates & volunteer needs)
  • mission statement
    • We are looking to build a strong bond between families, students, and staff. 
    • Communication is key! We will be utilizing several social media platforms, PTO website, as well as direct communication through admin and teachers to make sure we are all on the same page.
    • We want all families to fee welcome and included no matter their level of involvement. 
    • We are open to input from all especially if you are willing to jump in and be a part of the solution!

  • Dates for upcoming events
  • membership drive (madness) updates. Goals & incentives
  • Budget goals and breakdown of categories (copy of budget passed around group for review)
  • how PTO makes $
  • APEX vs Raise Craze. A kindness act = pledge/donation. Keychain gifts. Fall Festival & Auction the Saturday after Raise Craze to finish the event.
  • Misc fundraising: hair spray color, candy grams, spirit nights, etc.

 

Action Items:

  • How to get involved: become a member, donate, volunteer, committee chair
  • Budget. Motion to approve (Robin), 2nd (Rachael). No objections.
